More to surfing than the hoody
We have a romantic view of the hoody and surfing. You know the sort of thing, a wild day riding the waves, warm white sand under your toes, a sizzling BBQ, beers cooling in a bucket, your tanned skin rising in goosebumps as the sun melts into the sea, then you slip a hoody over your head and gently party under the stars…
Of course, that’s a stereotypical crock of crap. The actually reality is better and a lot more adventurous, as the surf inspired magazine Acid is a beautiful testament to.
The sharply designed Acid magazine is an insight into a diverse surfing culture and its huge scope. The magazine is chock full of great photography and surprising articles, from surfboard design and embroidered jute fibre, to surfing in the freezing waters off Norway and the beaches of Indonesia.
The publication is a design and editorial gem, and we just hope there’s room in it one day for a fashion focus on the surfer’s friend, the hoody.
