An ace re-brand reminds us the hoody needs good copywriting too

Silver in the City by Young & LaramoreWe bang on a lot about brilliant typography, wonderful use of colour and spankingly good design, but sharp copywriting is just as vital when it comes to what we slap onto a hoody.

It makes us nauseous, the thought of the ‘I’m with stupid’ sort garbage that is allowed to disgrace the hoody sometimes.

We were reminded of what great copywriting can do when marvelling at the re-branding of an unusual gift shop called ‘Silver in the City’, based in Indianapolis. The store went through a complete overhaul of everything from the store signs and packaging, through to the ads and business cards – and the result is pitch perfect!

All created by Young & Laramore, the re-brand uses fantastic design, typography and colours. But where the shop’s new identity is really lifted is in the witty, playful and smartly written slogans and tag lines. The writing is simply clever and charming, which makes you instantly want to make a pilgrimage to ‘Silver in the City’.
