Chalkboard typography for the hoody
Hand drawn chalkboard typography is making a bit of a comeback and we’re rather hoping the hoody gets the old school treatment soon.
Don’t know what it is about the dusty white doodles on a traditional school blackboard? We can’t even put it down to enjoying school because basically not many of us did. But there is something welcoming, nostalgic and genuinely moving about the medium.
Dana Tanamachi is a Texas-bred, Brooklyn-based graphic designer, and her chalk inspired creations are just the ticket. She runs a boutique graphic design studio – TANAMACHI STUDIO – specialising in hand-lettering and custom typography for editorial, lifestyle, food, and fashion brands.
From the cover of Time magazine to snowboard designs, her intricate and fun artwork is breathtaking. May be she could turn her chalky fingers to the hoody? Full marks if she does!
