The hoody forgives you Wilfrid

We were wading through the web in our creative wellies and happened to stumble into the fabulous and witty sculptures of Wilfrid Wood.

Our virtual wellies got especially stuck in the muddy waters of Mr Wood’s commemorative sculptures of 13 looters, which he produced to ‘honour’ the London riots back in the summer of 2011.

Hoodywink was rather shocked to find that Mr Wood had given six of his 13 rioters a hoody… Now, we’re not especially happy with the reputation the hoody has been give by the media but, to be fair, many of the looters did cover up their identities with the much abused and innocent hoody.

Also, Mr Wood lives in East London, works in his studio in Hackney Wick, and he would have been in the thick of it. So, we can forgive Mr Wood for adding further woe to the hoody’s dire image – plus the sculptures are brilliantly vibrant, graphic novel inspired, genius.
